TT 2025: the record-breaking Paton
Michael Dunlop dominates the Supertwin class and sets an incredible average speed of 123.056 mph
TT 2025: the record–breaking Paton
Every June, the Isle of Man transforms into a true motorcycling sanctuary, attracting riders and enthusiasts from all corners of the globe to its winding 60 kilometres to witness the legendary Tourist Trophy (TT). In the 2025 edition, the Supertwin category once again crowned Moto Paton, which has written an indelible chapter in the history of this unique event.
Michael Dunlop’s dominance
Riding the Paton S1–R, Michael Dunlop scored a double victory in both Supertwin races, winning Race 1 and Race 2 with ease. These victories bring his total number of wins on the Isle of Man to 33, a new “legendary number” that surpasses any previous record. In the first heat, Dunlop set a very fast pace from the start, gradually pulling away from all his rivals and crossing the finish line with a clear margin. The script did not change in the second race either: flying down the Mountain–Creg–ny–Baa section, he coolly defended the few attempts made by those trying to challenge him, confirming his clear and well–deserved supremacy.
The speed record
It is not only the number of successes that has become legendary, but also the timed performances: Dunlop recorded an average speed of 123.056 mph, setting a new absolute record in the Supertwin category. This figure highlights the mechanical reliability of the Paton S1–R and the excellence of its twin–cylinder engine, capable not only of pushing hard but also of ensuring consistent performance on a track as extreme and treacherous as the Isle of Man.
The strength of the team and other Patons
Moto Paton’s success was not limited to Michael Dunlop alone. In Race 1, the other customer team bikes occupied four of the top five positions, recording very close times and demonstrating that the technical project is successful on several fronts. Rider Rob Hodson finished second with a very respectable time, while Davey Todd and Dominic Herbertson took fourth and fifth place on their Paton S1-Rs. Even more evident was the dominance in Race 2, monopolising the entire podium with a 100% Paton trio: an unprecedented result in the category and confirmation of the quality of the project.
A winning alliance between man and machine
Behind these results lie months – indeed years – of development on the track and in the workshop, where every single component has been studied, tested and optimised. A high–strength steel frame, suspension tuning designed to best absorb the roughness of the Isle of Man, and the smooth and powerful delivery of the twin–cylinder engine even at low revs: these are the details that have made Moto Paton’s dominance possible. At the 2025 TT, we saw the perfect harmony between the Northern Irish rider’s mastery and the brand’s cutting-edge engineering, which has been able to transform every detail into a competitive advantage.
Towards new horizons
Moto Paton’s results at the 2025 TT are therefore extraordinary: a double win in Supertwin, a record 33 victories, a speed record of 123.056 mph and a massive presence in the top positions of both races. These figures certify not only a sporting exploit, but also the value of the work of an entire team: ready to transform ambition and passion into concrete successes. With the next developments, Moto Paton looks ahead, with the aim of setting new benchmarks and continuing to rule the roost on the world’s most demanding circuit.
