2019 TT: Paton conquers the Tourist Trophy!

The 2019 TT marked another historic milestone for Paton, as the Paton SC-Project clinched its third consecutive victory in the fiercely competitive Lightweight category of the 2019 Tourist Trophy. This triumph followed the previous wins in 2017 and 2018, confirming Paton’s dominance on the legendary roads of the Isle of Man.

The race was also a special achievement for Michael Dunlop, who secured his 19th TT victory, finishing ahead of Coward by a narrow margin of just 1.299 seconds, with Johnston in third place. This win at the 2019 Tourist Trophy also represented the 50th victory for the Dunlop family, reinforcing their unmatched legacy in motorcycle racing history.

2019 Tourist Trophy: weather challenges and Paton’s strength

The 2019 TT was not without drama. Due to adverse weather conditions, organizers were forced to shorten the race from four laps to just two, highlighting once again the unpredictable and extreme nature of the Isle of Man course.

Despite these difficulties, Stefano Bonetti, riding the second Paton SC-Project, delivered a remarkable performance. He started strongly, remaining within the top three for much of the race. Although worsening weather hindered his podium chances, Bonetti still secured a respectable sixth-place finish, showcasing both his talent and the reliability of Paton motorcycles in such demanding conditions.

Paton and the legacy of the 2019 TT

The 2019 Tourist Trophy will be remembered not only for Dunlop’s historic win with Paton, but also for the spirit of competition, the resilience of the riders, and the collective legacy of families and teams in motorsport.

This edition of the 2019 TT once again proved why the Tourist Trophy is considered the pinnacle of road racing: a perfect blend of history, passion, drama, and technical excellence. For Paton, the 2019 Tourist Trophy was another chapter of glory, confirming its reputation as a true icon in motorcycle racing.
